Fototertúlia (PhotoTalk) Conservation and restoration of photography, by Rosina Herrera Garrido

2 02Europe/Madrid October 02Europe/Madrid 2023 - 18:30 - 19:30

Free

We announce that the next Fototertúlia will take place next Monday, October 2, at 6:30 p.m. On this occasion, the session will be presented by Rosina Herrera, Art Historian and Graphic Document Conservator-Restorer, where she will present the book “CONSERVACIÓN Y RESTAURACIÓN DE FOTOGRAFÍA”.

We remind you that this gathering will take place online and that you can follow it live through the following link: https://meet.jit.si/FOTOTERTULIES2023FCX

This manual is an essential tool for those interested in photography: students, conservators, historians, restorers, scientists, photographers, heritage custodians, etc.

On the one hand, it covers the need for bibliography in Spanish and aspires to be a reference work on the conservation and restoration of photography. And, on the other hand, it complements and updates existing manuals translated from other languages that focus on the identification, preservation and management of collections.

In addition to these topics, the analysis techniques applied to the study of photography, the identification of those non-photographic processes that can be confused with photographs, or the recovery of collections after a disaster

Far from ‘do-it-yourself’, the restoration tasks described here involve risks to the works and should therefore be carried out by a professional with the appropriate experience. Ethical questions are also raised in relation to the care, preservation and treatment of the photographic work
In this link you can purchase the book in three formats: digital, e-book and printed: https://www.sinthesis.com/autor/herrera+garrido+rosina
